BRIEF OUTLINE: Find out who your opponent is by asking can you questions.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1. Have students write their names.
  2. Then go over the verbs and characters.
  3. Tell the students to write down their character under the "YOU" column and to not show anyone who they wrote.
  4. The students then form pairs and write down the name of the student they're paired with under the "V.S." column.
  5. The students then play janken.
  6. The winner gets to ask "Can you ~?" and the student who lost the janken replies with an appropriate answer.
  7. Students play janken each round (or turn based, depends on how you want to use it).
  8. They then tick the O box if they guessed right first.  The losing student ticks the cross box.
  9. They then pick another character and vs a different student for a 2nd game and so on.
  10. Don't forget to teach the "Are you ~?"

TEACHING SUGGESTIONS:

  • Pick a character your self and have students ask you questions for the 1st round.
