BRIEF OUTLINE: A listening activity putting the subjects with the right days in the right order.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1. Ask students to prepare the small vocabulary cards in back of their books beforehand. And review the days of the week and school subject vocabulary along with the dialogue “What do you study on (Mondays)?”
    2. Demonstrate to the students what they must do. Ask them to put the subjects in a row in the same order the teacher says them in the sentence.
Version 1: Students must ask “What do you study on (Mondays)?”The HRT/ALT says “I study ~” and lists some subjects. Students must arrange the cards in order under the (Monday) heading. Continue with all the days of the week.
Version 2: Students ask the teacher “What do you study on (Mondays)?” The HRT/ALT answers “I study~” but this time, students must wait until the end of the sentence and try to arrange them correctly.
    3. Check their answers by asking “What do you study on (Tuesdays)?” and students reply in the order the teacher said before. “I study ~.” When checking, ask the days in random order.
    The Learning Target is:
I can comprehend phrases and questions about the schedule. (I am familiar with)
