BRIEF OUTLINE
Can students say the dialogue? See how fast they can go in teams. The Learning Target is:
I can say greetings positively: “Let’s begin English class.”“My name is~.” (Or, I am familiar with English greetings.)

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • Chalk
  • Blackboard
  • Lot's of energy

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1. Four to six students should stand in a line.

  2. The first student must say the first part of the target dialogue. E.g. “Hello. My name is ~. Nice to meet you.”

  3. The second student must respond appropriately E.g., “Nice to meet you, too.” Then turns to the next student and repeats from step 2.

  4. When the last student is finished saying the dialogue, the whole row sits down. The first to do so, wins.

TIPS/CAUTIONS:

  • Students might start slurring the lines or skip before another student finishes...  the point is having fun, but it does bring up cheating. Pay attention to that.
