BRIEF OUTLINE: JHS 1st graders will review basic words they've learned during the first trimester, playing a challenging puzzle based on the "Phonics Alphabet" (pages 4 and 5 - New Horizon 1) 

 

MATERIALS NEEDED:

 

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1. Review pages 4 and 5
  2. Students close their textbooks and try solving the puzzle.
  3. Happily, ALT and JTE walk around helping students to complete it.

 

VARIATIONS

  • Challenge them to try it for the first 5 minutes without consulting textbook/dictionary.
  • The ones who finish within 5 min or without checking textbook/dictionary can claim a sticker.
