BRIEF OUTLINE: A variety of puzzles to review with your 1st graders the new vocab learned on the first trimester.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1. Review each word with your students, making sure they understand the meaning/pronunciation of them.
  2. Give about 10 minutes to finish.
  3. As they finish, call volunteers to come to the front and solve/find one word each using a big print of the puzzle.

TIPS/CAUTIONS:

  • This material was based on Total English 1. If you are using other textbook, please review the words and make sure they fit in some way. You can also create your own puzzles here:
  • Discovery Education / Puzzle-maker
  • Give nice stickers to the ones who finish within 5 minutes.
  • Enumerate each column/row. It will be easy in the end to check the answers with students.
