BRIEF
OUTLINE: This colorful Mario Board game is adaptable to almost any grammar point and requires minimal preparation!

MATERIALS NEEDED:

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1. Print out the game boards. (I've laminated 9 of them.)
  2. Students work in groups. Pass out the boards and worksheets. Don't give them the dice or game pieces before your explanation.
  3. Explain, one student rolls the die. They move to a space. On each space there is a number and each number corresponds to a question on the worksheet that they must answer out loud. If they cannot answer, they must return to where they started.
  4. Explain, The student to reach FINISH within their group the fastest gets a sticker!
  5. Hand out dice and game pieces and let them start.

VARIATIONS:

  • Allow them to discuss the answers in their groups

TIPS/CAUTIONS:

  • On the accompanying worksheet, I have marked the program each grammar point came from so the students can refer to their textbooks if the question is too difficult.
  • This is a Sunshine (3rd grade) activity that can be adopted to any textbook.
