BRIEF OUTLINE: Students act out an action and guess what the action is. Then they write a report on who has done what.

 

MATERIALS NEEDED:

 

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1. A student comes up the ALT and picks up a card.
  2. (S)he acts out the action on the card.
  3. Students raise their hands and one of them guesses the action in the form of an interrogative sentence: "Have you _____ed _____ yet?"
  4. The acting student answers "Yes, I have. I have just _____ed _____."
  5. Students write the name of the actor and what he has done.
  6. All students act out an action.

 

VARIATIONS:

  • If the class is large, this activity can be done in pairs/groups.
  • A point system can be developed.

 

TEACHING SUGGESTIONS:

  • Make sure the kids know all the vocabulary and past participles.
  • Go over "Has the train left yet?" question.
  • If a student is unable to act out the chosen action then let him/her chose another one.
