BRIEF OUTLINE: Students must connect the nouns with the correct verbs, followed by writing/reading practice.

 

MATERIALS NEEDED:

 

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1. Tell students to clear their desks and listen carefuly.
  2. Demonstrate the grammar point with a few objects, such as: pencil to write with, book to read, etc.
  3. Write the grammar point on the chalkboard.
  4. Check the meaning/comprehension with the students and t
  5. hen distribute the worksheet.
  6. Check vocabulary on the worksheet with the students and practice pronunciation.
  7. Worksheet Instructions:
    • Connect the nouns and verbs by drawing a line connecting them.
    • Students must write two sentences using one of the nouns and one of the verbst.
    • Students write two of their own original sentences in area marked "NEW".
    • Check the answers by calling on some students to read them out loud.
    • Ask each student to read one of his/her original sentence to the class.
    • Reward them accordingly.

 

VARIATIONS:

  • It really depends on the students' English ability as whether you can turn this activity into a 20–30 min class.
  • If you would like to focus more on the speaking towards the end, it can easily become a full class lesson plan.
