BRIEF OUTLINE: This information gap activity is fairly self-explanatory. Students work in pairs to complete the worksheet.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • MyCrazyFamily worksheet - half of the class receives 'worksheet A' and the other 'worksheet B'.

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1. Divide the class up in pairs.
  2. Students janken to determine who goes first.
  3. Students take turns and help each other fill in the blanks on each sheet. "This is ______. She is ______."

VARIATIONS:

  • If the class is more quick to understand the grammatical point, change the worksheet to say things such as "She is 14 years old" or "He is from Malaysia."

TIPS/CAUTIONS:

  • Make sure students are not just looking off their partner's worksheet. If they are, have them keep it a secret as if they were playing Battleship.
