BRIEF OUTLINE: The students write out a week long schedule and ask their friends to go to places with them.





  1. Go over the target sentence "Would you like to come with me?" and give many examples of places it can be used. Make sure to make a point of introducing and practicing the answers "I'd love to" and "I'm sorry, but I can't."
  2. Pass out the worksheet and tell the students how to make a schedule book from the worksheet:
    • Fold the paper in half the long way, fold it in half again the new long way, and fold it one more time the new long way.
    • Open the paper up twice and cut open on the fold near the black line (I couldn't get that line to be exactly over the fold no matter how hard I tried).
    • Open up the paper and fold the paper again so the cut is on the top. When both sides are pushed together it will make a schedule book.
  3. Introduce 5 places where the students can go over summer vacation (Korea, Canada, America, etc.) and the remind them of the future tense, for example, "I will go to Canada."
  4. The students choose two places and write one each on two different days in their schedule book.
  5. The students interview their friends and invite them somewhere. For example, "I will go to Korea on Monday. Would you like to come with me?" If the other student has nothing on Monday they will say "I'd love to" and write down Korea and the other student's name on Monday. The person that asked the question gets to write down the name of the person they asked. If the other student already has something written down they have to say "I'm sorry, I can't" and the students part ways.
  6. After allowing the students to interview each other for a little while stop them and have them count the number of people they are going to different places with. The student with the most signtures is the winner.



  • It is a little difficult to explain everything in English so demonstration works best



  • It is best to bring a few extra copies of the worksheet just in case the students cut the wrong side
