BRIEF OUTLINE:Students listen to telephone conversations and fill-in-the-blanks.  Then, they make their own original conversations.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1. The ALT/JTE have a phone conversation while the students listen carefully and complete their worksheet.  They will listen to three conversations.
  2. Students then will conduct their own conversations and practice the dialogue in pairs.

TEACHING SUGGESTIONS:

  • Repeat each telephone conversation twice. Make the first time natural conversation speed and the second time slower.
