BRIEF OUTLINE: 'PPT' stands for PowerPoint Teaching. Removing squares one-by-one from pictures via powerpoint, students try to guess what occupation/hobby the person in the picture is.

 

MATERIALS NEEDED:

 

DETAILED EXPLANATION:
  1. After practicing the target structures on the board. start the slideshow and click to remove one box and encourage one of the brighter students to try to guess. You are trying to elicit: "Is he a...?"
  2. Continue as above, picking students, removing boxes and eliciting guesses until someone correctly guesses what the picture is.
  3. When someone guesses, keep clicking to remove the remaining boxes and have the whole class shout out, "He is a...!"

 

TEACHING SUGGESTIONS:
  • Activity designed for New Crown (book 1, unit 5), but can really be used by any textbook.
