BRIEF
OUTLINEStudents blindly choose words later to be used in what will become a funny story similar to the original Mad Libs activity.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1. Give out the first sheet (only).
  2. Have the students choose words for numbers 1-7, as the teacher does likewise on the board. Emphasize using their own ideas - friends's names etc. Check that students are using the right type of words in the right places. Watch out for potential for fun.
  3. Give out the second Sheet.
  4. Read teacher's example, translating as you go.
  5. Have the students read and translate.
  6. It should be a laugh.

VARIATIONS:

  • Personalize the worksheet.
  • Getting the students in groups can be fun, but time consuming.

TEACHING SUGGESTIONS:

  • Have particularly funny examples presented.
