BRIEF OUTLINE: A simple ABC game where students match upper/lowercase domino letters.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • RAndR worksheet: One set for each group. The dominoes sheet is not in alphabetical order.

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1. This activity is simple.  Simply match the capital letter (left) with the corresponding lowercase letter (right) of a domino.
  2. Split the class into small groups and give each group a set of dominoes.  When you say "GO!", groups race against each other to finish the task.

VARIATIONS:

  • If you have 26 students you could give them one domino and get them to get in order.
  • Print out 2-3 sets of dominoes for each group and have them play dominoes using regular domino rules.

TEACHING SUGGESTIONS:

  • This game can also be played like concentration but searching for one domino to match the domino already there.
