BRIEF OUTLINE:  Students are divided into shopkeepers and customers and role play.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1. Assign which students are shopkeepers and which are customers. Shopkeepers have inventory lists; customers have shopping lists.
  2. The prints are setup so that a customer can not find everything on his list at one shop, so they have to move around between the shopkeepers (who are seated), use the conversation printed on his sheet and find everything on his list. Give the students a time limit then have everyone sit down and pass out a new set of worksheets.
  3. Reverse the roles.

TIPS/CAUTIONS:

  • Make sure everyone is using English.
