BRIEF
OUTLINE: Students divide into groups and try to guess what's on other groups cards. The students ask "Is it a ~" until they guess right. They then report back to their own group and write down the answer.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1.  Before class cut out the cards from the attachment.
  2. Divide the class up into groups and give each group a worksheet and a card. (Make sure you write the numbers on the backs of the cards. They are in no paticular order in the attachment.)
  3. One person from each group needs to stay with the worksheet and their card. They can't carry the worksheet around. One or two members of the group need to go and find out verbally what the other group's cards are.
  4. They go to another group and the group secretary asks "What`s this" while showing their card. The visiting group member guesses. Until they get "That`s Right" Then they have to take the answer back to their group.
  5.

      VARIATIONS:

      • It can be played exactly like Englipedia's Passive Picture Guess, just print out one card set per group.
      • It can also be played like a game show by using just the power point attachment. Groups watch the power point presentation and raise their hand quickly for a chance to answer and get a point if they are correct.
      • It can work with multiple grammar points such as "I think~" or "This is /That is" etc...
