BRIEF OUTLINEA simple Powerpoint quiz about Christmas traditions in the US.

 

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • XMasQuiz -Powerpoint presentation 
  • TV, PC and connector

 

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  1. Tell students you are going to do a team quiz about Christmas in America (or in your country--feel free to change the PPT)
  2. Put students in teams. Give each team a sheet of scratch paper and a marker. Have students janken to see who writes first. Tell them they will answer in rotation, after deciding together as a group on an answer.
  3. Show the first Q slide and read it to them, along with the answer choices. Each team writes their answer (a, b, or c-- or for higher levels have them write our their answer) and when you say, they hold up their papers.
  4. Show and say the answer. All teams with the correct answer get 1 point.
  5. The team with the most points is the winner.

 

TEACHING SUGGESTIONS:

  • You can follow up this activity with the AllIWantForChristmas fill-in-the-blank activity for a full 50 mins class.
