2. Give each group a set of signs.
3. Start the video.
4. Pause before the first sign is shown.
5. Go though each sign and explain.
6. Have each group raise their sign of choice above their head.

Answers to all the sign questions shown in the movie:

*Spoiler Alert*

  • Take a photo
  • Im kidding
  • Stacey
  • Jason
  • Nice 2 meet u
  • Nice to meet u 2

VARIATIONS:

  • You can decide if you want to give out pre-written signs to the groups to make it easier for them to answer, or have them write their own original signs on the spot while the movie is paused.
  • If you allow students to have all the pre-written signs you could also throw in some red herrings, which would relfect some negative responses. For example "In your dreams." instead of "Absolutely."
  •

TEACHING SUGGESTIONS:

  • Time can be tight, so keep on track.
  • Bonus points for a unique correct answer.
  • Bonus points for the last answer.
  •

TIPS/CAUTIONS:

  • If students have access to all the signs during the movie, be sure to let them know that some signs could be used more than once.
